Today's tip: to prevent haircolor fadeout, wash your hair in cool water! Your hair is covered in tiny scales, called the cuticle layer, and heat causes those suckers to fly open. Haircolor works by using a chemical reaction to open up the cuticle and deposit color molecules into the hairshaft. The more you can keep them closed, the less fadeout you'll experience.
